Sean Rositano is running for University of Michigan Regent to give the university back to the people.
I’m running for U of M Regent to give this university back to the people - the students, faculty, staff, and healthcare providers who make it great!
Meet Sean
Sean Traurig Rositano is a policy social worker in the Michigan House of Representatives, a progressive candidate for Regent, a Jewish Detroiter, a husband, and soon-to-be father. Raised in Fenton, Sean has spent his life connected to public education—from serving as a student representative on his local school board to earning degrees from Central Michigan University and the University of Michigan School of Social Work. During his MSW, Rositano fought for paid internships through the Payment for Placements movement, advised the student government on housing policy, and served on President Ono’s search advisory group for the VP of Comms. Working as a legislative director in the Michigan Legislature opened Sean’s eyes to how much power the Board of Regents holds and how little accountability it faces as it has dismantled the DEI office, restricted speech, surveilled students, and rolled back gender-affirming care. Sean is running for Regent to bring transparency back to the Board and ensure the university listens to the people it exists to serve.
